I couldn't agree more.

Took Gramma shopping today. And through the modern miracle of Corporate America- we always take a break midway through Wal-Mart to grab something to eat at McDonald's. Ordered my McMeal and the cashier asks if I want to donate a dollar to the McCause. Sure, I say, and it's added in with my total. Cashier says, "Here sign the card and we'll put it up on the wall."
OK.
So I grab the pen and sign "Serenity" -- as it was the first thing that came to mind. (other than my own name. which is kinda boring.)
I've been listening to my Bedlam Bards CD "On the Drift" on repeat in my truck, and you know how it is: "Last Song You Heard Syndrome" I had

As stars burn bright and rise the dawn
So our paths must journey on
We lose not hope in family
Still sail the sky Serenity............

humming through my brain the whole time I was shopping.

Anyway. She looks at the name and brightens up asking, "Serenity? Is that your name?"

I figure lying would be easier than explaining, so I say "Yeah."

Then she starts telling me how that's going to be her daughter's name. 'Serenity Storm'. And how her first daughter is 'Haylee Rayne'...and we chatted it up for the time I was waiting on my fries.

So, I made a friend today. Ok It was based on a lie. But Firefly brings people together in weird ways.

LOL!

So, I'm wondering do we, as Red River Rebels, proper, have a logo?
Like say, something I can vectorize and put on the back of my truck? :)

It is those rare, wonderful Browncoat moments that make life so much fun.
Today, one of our customers, Frank- (a loveable, sorta crazy, ex-army vet) comes into the office wearing, I kid you not, a potholder on his head.
Well, it started life as a potholder. Then it became a true-to-life hat. A bright orange, trimmed in green and white, pumpkin-faced, Halloween hat.
With tassels!!
OH! It was awsome! He said his neighbor knitted it for him, and that he's going to wear it for Halloween while handing out candy to the kiddies.

So. He walks into the office and asks us what we think.
In my mind I'm thinking *OK. I got this one!*
I smile at him brightly and say, "I love it! Frank, a man walks down the street in that hat, people know he's not afraid of anything."

He continues being happy with his hat and telling us his plans for Halloween.

It's times like this that make my little Firefly heart happy. :)

Just wanted to get the basic framework done- I'm eager to get the LJ crew up and flying!

*basically what that means is this is still in rough draft mode. I'm encouraging much participation and suggestions for making the look of the community all shiny!*

Join up! Spread the word!
